What's the difference between a transaction fee and an advertising fee? It seems like they are taking 1/3 of my payout. Is this normal?

Mentor7 months agoThere are two main types of selling fees: an insertion fee when you create a listing, and a final value fee when your item sells.
This will be shown as a transaction fee on your order details.

The advertising fees are an optional fee when you sign up for additional promotion of your listings.
General campaign strategy | eBay
Above are an example of advertising fees that sellers can sign up to use. These are optional.
You do not have to use advertising fees and not everyone uses them. You sign up when you list an item or if you see "boost" or "promote"
