Seller fees
I’m outraged over the seller fees that eBay charges. I sold $550 in items, and I only got $447 as a profit. This is a bunch of bull. They explain the fees as a way to cover business costs. But it’s funny that you can’t ever talk to anyone anymore in customer support. So why do they need all that money when they don’t even have half the people working there anymore. I won’t sell another thing on here. That’s just plain robbing people.

Mentor10 months agoeBay is not robbing people and certainly not robbing their sellers. eBay is a publicly-owned corporation in the American capitalist economy. eBay has an obligation to their shareholders to make profits.
As an eBay seller, eBay Order Earnings of $447 from sales of $550, item prices, sounds about right to me.
My selling ID estimates a 70% return on the prices she put on her listings. Your order earnings are slightly more than 80%.
eBay's Final Value Fees (FVFs) are a percentage of the Total Amount Paid by eBay Buyers.
eBay buyers usually pay some shipping and some sales tax in addition to the price of the item itself.
Your four recent eBay sales were all Jewelry, which carries a 15% FVF.
eBay's FVF percentage for most other categories is 13.6%. (If you sold guitars you'd pay "only" 6.7%.)
eBay also charges a per-order fee on each sale, which is $0.30 (thirty cents) when the total paid by the buyer is $10.00 or less. That per-order fee increases to $0.40 (forty cents) when the total paid by the buyer is $10.01 and more.
