Seller fees
I just realized that e bay charges there high percentage fees on even the tax , I don’t think it is right or even legal , making money on tax? I ask them to adjust the fee and they said no and refused to help or answer the question , does anyone know if that is legal

One last point to consider - if eBay took the tax out of the calculation, the fee % would be higher - the fee amount would not be lower.
When eBay started collecting the tax and applied the fee % to the tax, they lowered the % to account for it.

OP2 years agoReally ? You don’t believe that ,they charged me 13.25% on a item ,so you think they would have charged even more , they going to chase us away if it gets even more won’t be able to sell at a decent price

They lowered the % when they put the tax in, so, yes, I do believe that if they took the tax out of the calculation, the rate would go up a bit - not a lot, since it is the smallest part of the equation.
Instead of looking at how it is calculated, look at the $ amount. Do you feel you get a good service for the $? That is what really matters.

·2 years agoYes it's legal. EBay charges their fee on all funds paid by the buyer.
The same as any payment processor charges when you use your card at the store.

Would you rather keep track of the sales tax collected on every sale, and remit to each buyer's state when it is due? I'm sure most sellers would gladly pay ebay the FVF on that sales tax and have them do it for us.
