Seller favored feedback policy
My ebay policy is to never leave seller feedback until I receive feedback FIRST. Note that as buyer, when I complete my end of the transaction, that is when my feedback is due.
I have completed my part of the bargain, yet ALL my recent purchases have resulted in NO FEEDBACK since the seller favored automatic feedback policy has been in place, WHILE IN EVERY TRANSACTION before this misguided seller favored policy, I HAVE received feedback.
Why are you doing this to buyers? It is not the buyers place to leave feedback BEFORE the sellers.

That's fine, but then you can expect to receive less feedback than a buyer who doesn't hold feedback hostage.
If you're waiting for your seller to leave it and your seller is waiting for you to leave it, neither of you will receive it.
Feedback is 100% voluntary. No one has to leave it.
Sellers can automate their feedback to to leave after the buyer leaves it OR after the buyer pays. These settings have been around for years and years. They are not new and not all sellers use them.
By the way, you've received more feedback than you've left so something isn't working right with your policy. (You left one feedback in the past year but received four.)

OP2 years agoSomewhere in my past there is a 3 feedback discrepancy that I can't find! It's not this/last year. I've received 5 feedbacks as a seller and 46 as a buyer since I joined in 1998. That's 51, but I've only left 48. For last year I only see 2 feedback left and 2 received. I had more transactions, but the seller would not leave feedback so I didn't either.

Exactly.
And leaving feedback is entirely voluntary as I stated previously. No one has to leave it, but those who do leave it can leave it according to their preference for doing so. That applies to both buyers and sellers.

Mentor2 years agoFeedback is not DUE, it is voluntary. Making payment is not always the end of the transaction. Sellers have to worry about the 30 money back guarantee. As a seller, I leave feedback for my buyers , but not until after the item has been received and in their hands for a few days.
I also wouldn't say that sellers favor automatic feedback. It is something a seller must opt into, not something that we are opted into by eBay. It is a choice. Your feedback score will grow. It has taken me over 10 years to get to my feedback score. I get about 25-30% feedback from my buyers, yet give out 99% feedback to my buyers, so I don't agree with your opinion at all.
