Seller doesn’t respond to return request
Hi has anyone ever had an issue they wanted to return an item but the shipping costs double what you paid for the item - then you reach out to the seller and they ignore you then you reach out to eBay and even they can’t help - then what??

Mentor1 year agoThe easiest way is to go to your Purchase history, locate the item. You have 30 days from date of receipt. Click on RETURN THIS ITEM because it is Not as Described. You will need to click on MORE to see that option. The seller will need to provide a prepaid shipping label for its return. You print out the label, affix it to the box, and have the counter clerk scan the label. When tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you within 2 days. If no refund, go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
If the seller has a no returns policy, ebay's Money Back Guarantee trumps the seller's No Returns policy if the item never arrives, or it is Not as Described. The No Returns policy is only good for buyer's remorse: changed mind, didn't like it, doesn't fit, found it cheaper elsewhere. For those reasons, the seller can decline a return.
If it has been more than 30 days since receipt of the item, file a Returns Request with Paypal if that is how you paid. Paypal accepts cases within 180 days from the transaction. As a last resort, contact your credit card issuer if that is how you paid.
If the seller is NOT located in your country, s/he cannot supply a return label good in your country. S/he will have to send enough money to cover return shipping and you purchase the return shipping. Once tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you in full. If no refund within 2 days, you go back to the Returns Request and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.

OP1 year agoThe problem is the seller accepts returns but will not respond to me needed assistance with shipping because to ship back the $100 it will cost me $197 which makes no sense to me. Can I still dispute the charge through PayPal?

Mentor1 year agoHi @cuba51
DO NOT contact PayPal unless you want to pay the return shipping. [Buyers ALWAYS pay return shipping on PayPal.]
If you already filed a ‘return request’ from your Purchase History … then all you need to do is wait 4 business days, and then go back to your open request to ask eBay to step in. eBay will provide the free shipping label OR a full refund. That’s it.
