Seller disguised a priority box and shipped first class. I had to pay postage due to receive package
Large volume seller used a small priority flat rate box but disguised it by wrapping it with brown paper, then used a first class label to ship. I received a slip from PO saying I had to go to the counter and either pay the difference, or reject the package. I paid the difference. Reason for postage due is 'misuse of priority products'. This is considered postal fraud.
I am mystified. Seller has 39k sales, thousands of positive reviews and zero neutral or negative reviews. Reviews do not jive with this fraudulent practice. I sent seller images of the package with the notice from the PO about postage due. Seller sent boilerplate 'sorry for your inconvenience' and issued a partial refund to cover what I paid at the counter. But... this all just seems scummy and gross. And now I'm questioning their perfect feedback score.

Mentor3 years agoI am sure your PO alerted his PO to watch for such packages in the future. He probably doesn’t know this, so let’s hope he gets a nice shock next time he tried this trick.
I feel eBay has made all feedback irrelevant. With so few buyers leaving feedback, and recent changes removing or barring any feedback when a full refund is issued, it seems feedback is no longer indicative of a seller’s performance.
You could leave carefully worded feedback, only stating the facts in a polite tone. It might help the seller realize that we do care about such things.
