Seller Discrimination
How is it that a seller can refuse to take an order? I pressed Add to Cart
and got an automated message saying You are not allowed to place an order!
I have very many good reviews, I am reliable, but I have not ordered that much
this past year. I placed a couple orders last week with other sellers - no problem.
I have never gotten any notice of breaking any rules. i have canceled an order
here or there, but THAT IS ALLOWED!
This seller might be someone where I once canceled an order, but that would have to be
many moons ago!
SOMEHOW, THIS FEELS PERSONAL, LIKE DISCRIMINATION.
What say you?
(Thanks for listening!)

Actually, it is not allowed. Buyers do not possess the authority to cancel an order. A buyer can only request the seller to cancel an order, but the seller doesn't have to comply. I suspect that two or more sellers, irritated at someone who would cavalierly cancel orders "here or there" simply didn't accede to your requests and let the four days elapse, then cancelled for non-payment, thinking that it serves you right. Of course that might not be what happened, but I'd bet a dime.

OP2 years agoNot at all. Because requests to cancel ARE allowed, the seller was courteous and the order was promptly cancelled. (When I say "here and there," I mean over a period of 12 years). Some major websites allow you to cancel in the first 15 minutes, no questions asked. They "get" that mistakes happen. But in this technological age, someone can have a bad day (like your toddler throwing a tantrum), and the next thing that happens is you've been labeled for life - as if you committed a major crime!

If you mean the non-paying buyer Strikes, you're labeled for twelve months, not life. Just be sure not to get any more, and when the strikes age off, this will all be just a memory nobody wants to remember. Good luck.
