Since the seller cannot change the description once a bid is placed they may have had another similar item available for sale and this new description applies to the new item. Once you receive the item you can see if it matches the original description. If it does not then you file a case for an "Item not as described".
The seller cannot change the description once there is a bid. He is locked out of changing anything there when you bid - he can only add to the description.
You can try asking the seller to cancel your purchase, but he does not have to agree to a cancellation.
