seller did not send me what I paid for
Summary: A participant with author_id 443991 is expressing a concern regarding a purchase, stating that the seller did not send the item they paid for. eburtonlab has responded to this concern. There have been a series of exchanges between the two participants regarding the issue, but no specific details about the resolution have been shared.
I paid for a coin, when the seller finally sent me a package, it was not the coin I paid for. In fact what he sent was worth about half what the coin I purchased is worth. BUT since a coin was delivered, eBay even after appealing to them, and showing them photos of what I got was not what the seller advertised, has said they won't do anything about the case. This is ridiculous! So apparently you can say your selling anything on eBay, get the money, then send anything you want to the buyer and say, "We're good!" You can never actually talk to a customer service PERSON from eBay. Does anyone have a suggestion?

If the item is "not as described" you need to start a "not as described" return within thirty days of receiving it. You will have to provide a picture of the item and a couple of sentences of text about the issue.
If the seller does not refund you or provide a return shipping label you should be able to ask eBay to step in after three business days. The process is automated; if the seller does not cooperate at any point, ask eBay to step in after three business days but before twenty-one business days has passed.

Past thirty days, you may still have some recourse through your payment method; contact your card issuer for details.

OP4 months agoThanks eburtonlab, I initiated the process you suggested; I think I actually got a reply via email from an actual eBay customer service PERSON. We'll see where it goes from here.
