Seller delivering within so many miles
I have something to sell that is valuable and I'd feel more comfortable delivering it to the buyer. Any recommendations on this? For example, it would have to be a less than a 100 mile drive for me. I don't know if I want the post office handling this.
Just checking...
Thanks

Mentor4 months agoJust list it with LOCAL PICK-UP: CITY/STATE in the title. That way the buyer has to come to you to pickup the item, but once you know the buyer's location, you can offer to deliver it. Just make sure you scan the QR code (or enter the 6 digit code) that the buyer receives to prove delivery.

OP4 months agoThank you. Is scanning the QR code something I'll need the eBay app on my phone for?
I don't have the app on my phone yet. I do everything on my computer so far.

Scanning the code is on the App, and I highly recommend you get the app if you are doing local delivery.
You can type in the 6 digit code if you don't have the app.
Just be sure your app is the same account as your desktop.

You can set your listing for Local Pickup Only.
-- Here is a help page where you can learn more:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/local-pickup?id=4181
-- Arranging pickup
In your listing item description or checkout instructions, specify when and how the buyer can collect the item. Don't add your full address, just the area will do.
-- After the buyer clicks "Buy", you can communicate through eBay messages to arrange details of pickup
-- Proof of pickup is required to protect you against item not received cases.
For proof of pickup you can use the eBay app:
- to scan the QR code the buyer received through email, or
- to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email

OP4 months agoThanks for that information. I am fairly new to eBay, and I am learning every day.
