Seller delivered to wrong address, says USPS "scanned it under the wrong function".
I bought a graded basketball card. The tracking says that it was delivered to a PO Box in the exact same zip code as it was dropped off in 3 hours after the label was created. I do not live in the same state that the seller lives in.
This seemed very fishy to me, so I messaged the seller. The seller says they went to the post office and messages me "It got scanned under wrong function. It is in the sorting bin where all packages are. The tracking will updates once the package is scanned again. So we should be good."
I messaged him that if the tracking didn't update, I want a refund. As of now, eBay took money from my PayPal and I have an order that states "Delivered" to a PO Box out of my state.
Is this maybe a rare occurrence that I've yet to run into until now, or the seller trying to get over on me?
The seller has 100% feedback (72), with 97 items sold.

·2 years agoI just wanted to reiterate that it is not uncommon for a clerk to punch in the wrong code on the handheld device while scanning an item, particularly during an acceptance scan. You will likely see some tracking movement in the next few days.

Actually, that scanning error can happen, I seem to recall some members mentioning that before. Anyway, wait on day past the original estimated delivery date and if you have not received the item file a claim that you did not receive it. Follow the instruction int he claim for a refund.

Your request would mean the Seller has to Void the one label and then Purchase a 2nd label ... not necessary so don't expect the Seller to comply with that request.
