Seller defaming buyers and posting their username in listing
Does it violate eBay policy for a seller to post a buyer's username within a listing and defame them? I have reported a seller multiple times, spoken to multiple eBay customer service reps and was told the issue was handled, yet the listing is still active, still has my username, is still defaming me. I left negative feedback for the seller, and eBay removed it within minutes, yet allowed the seller to defame me in their positive feedback and refused to remove it for 72 hours.

OP2 years agoBased on the fact that no one has responded, I guess its safe to assume eBay does in fact condone harassment and doxing on its platform.
Find it hilarious that the agents go out of their way to Thank you for your 20 years of being a loyal customer, but then wont do anything for you when a seller clearly crossed the line.

OP2 years agoThank you. Have went thru the report the seller every day since this seller posted my information. I see it as a policy violation however support has told me they cant do anything to help other than send a message to the seller asking them to take it down. They can not force them to remove it and will not take any action to limit their activity.
Clearly I was venting but wanted to know if eBay actually enforces this policy for anyone or not

OP2 years agoWhat would stop the buyer from using all 250 of their free listings to post horrible nasty comments about the seller. Would eBay then turn into a message board with negativity all over it? Since it obviously doesn't violate eBay policy, could eBay even prevent this?

OP2 years agoeBay has refused to remove my username from the listing in question and has been unable to provide a reason for the refusal.
Does eBay condone harassment and violation of buyer's privacy rights?
Why are usernames shielded in feedback but it is alright to post them in an item's description?
When I asked for an explanation of what was being done, I am told that they can not share that with me as it would violate the seller's privacy. Funny how eBay is concerned about a seller's privacy but not the buyer's.
Anyone have any insights into eBay policy on removing usernames from listing descriptions?
