Seller contacted me to increase shipping
Hi folks,
I purchased an item and the seller contacted me after the fact asking for more money for shipping. And the seller included a link that I should be clicking.
Is this normal practice? The item is over $100 and it was listed as "free economy international shipping" and now the seller is likely not to send it if I don't pay the "extra shipping".

Estimated delivery date is between May 13 and June 22. It's been a while since I've purchased from eBay and was just worried that things have changed substantially.
I'm more so worried that it's a scam (they sent me a link that I don't know where it will take me).

Mentor5 months agoYou are NOT obligated to pay shipping if the listing stated that shipping was free. Just respond back that you look forward to receiving your item.
Go to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.
