seller clearly states
Hi,
I sold an item and the ad clearly states in all caps that item is untested and sold as is with no returns or refunds, do i have to return the buyers money? how does this work? normally a 700 item and sold for 200

·2 years agoFirst, you listed the condition it was in as Used. On eBay this means it may have some cosmetic damage but functions as intended.
Second, on eBay there is no such thing as No Refunds. If the buyer opens an Item Not As Described case, you WILL be refunding. You can either refund without requiring the buyer return the item, or you can pay return shipping and refund when it’s returned. If you try to resist, and the buyer escalates the case to eBay, they will allow the buyer to keep it, refund them from YOUR funds, and you’ll receive a defect against your account for failing to resolve the matter on your own.

Mentor2 years ago@tokenbricker Yes you do have to return the buyers money. Your choices are to refund without paying for a return shipping label OR pay for return shipping and then refund.
Your refund policy is for buyers remorse returns only... doesn't fit, change mind, found better price, etc.
The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules your return policy. Untested is not a good way to list items for sale on eBay. If an item is not working then the condition should be for Parts or not working. USED is the condition then the item is expected to function.
