Seller claims item is no longer available
Seller asked me to cancel the order because item has already been sold. EBay says it’s too late to cancel my order and now I’m not getting a response from seller. Pretty sure this was a scam

Mentor2 years agoThe seller is trying to get out of earning a defect on his record for not completing the sale by asking you to initiate the cancellation. Tell him to use the Cancellation option in the dropdown next to the order with the reason that he is out of stock. Let him know that if he misrepresents the reason for the cancellation, you'll report it.
If he doesn't cancel, when it's past the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History, you have up to 30 days to use the option next to the transaction to open a case for an item not received. The seller will have 3 business days to prove delivery or refund. If he doesn't, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
