I won an auction for an item, and then the seller claimed that they could not find the item, and they
cancelled the sale. Now they have relisted the item for a higher price, and they are not responding to my messages asking why they will not honor my purchase now that they have found it. Or maybe they never had it in the first place, and are listing it again without having it. How does ebay allow people to sell items they don't possess? There does not appear to be any way for me to even report the seller for doing this?

1. Select The seller has violated one of eBay s policies and click Continue.
2. On the next page, enter the seller's ID and select Other.
3. In the comment section, write "Seller cancelled order stating that item was damaged/lost in order to avoid a defect and then relists that item with a higher price." Include the new item number.
Too many defects, and sellers can be restricted or suspended.

OP4 months agoThank you for your help.
I followed your advise and submitted my comments.
And the page just says "we ran into a problem, please try again later"
Seems fishy to me.
But I appreciate you taking the time to offer a solution.
I wish that ebay had a better path to reporting sellers that do this,
and perhaps stopping them.
