Seller changes mind after already checking will give refund
Buyer decides he wants a refund on an item that says NO REFUNDS. He stated he mistakenly bought the item as a full console. It clearly says EMPTY BOX ONLY. I checked the give refund box but as I looked at my item I can not see how he could have not read that it was a box only. I changed my mind. I do not think he should get his refund. What do I do to change this

You listed your item under Video Game Consoles ... making your item 'not as described' automatically.
Yes, your buyer apparently failed to understand that a seller would actually charge $60 for an 'empty box' ... but eBay won't let you get away with trying to fool buyers that way.
If you don't refund voluntarily ... eBay will refund the buyer with your money ... and let the buyer keep your 'empty boxes'. You'll also receive a defect, forfeit your fees. and likely receive a negative feedback as well. The ball is in your court. Change your mind at your own risk.

OP2 years agoThis was a console empty box. There are plenty to chose from on ebay. You make it sound like a scam. Some people buy used consoles with no box. Thats were these come in handy.

Yes, I did make it sound like an attempted scam, because that's what it usually is when a seller lists an item the way you did ... especially with 'no returns'. [Sellers have tried to get away with this trick for many years .]
You listed the item under the Category of an actual game console ... so that buyers looking for game consoles would pull up your item. You are not going to get away with this ... so you might as well follow through with the refund ... UNLESS you want to pay the shipping cost to get your empty boxes back.
[There's a Category of 'Original Game Cases & Boxes', which you could have used if you were being legitimate.]

Mentor2 years agoAt this point, you learn from the experience. In the future, you need to decide what you are going to do before you act, not after. You'll need to refund the buyer when the item arrives back (assuming you didn't refund already, in which case the buyer is not obligated to return it).
