seller chaged for shipping
The price the Buyer paid for shipping is different than what the Seller who is buying the shipping label is paying. I being the seller was charged almost $2 dollars over what the buyer paid for shipping. What do I do?

Very Nice! 1999 Susan B Anthony $1 Dollar Proof Coin w/Display
You used flat rate shipping for that item, meaning the same price regardless of where the seller lives. I live in 92802, which is in California. I changed the zip code to 10010, which is in New York and the shipping price did not change.
You need to select Calculated shipping, entering an accurate weight and dimensions for the package, and ebay will calculate the shipping from your zip code to the buyer's zip code. The other 2 sold listings did use calculated shipping.

You eat the cost of your mistake, figure out what information you had wrong (weight, dimensions, shipping method, etc.) and correct that moving forward.
eBay has no provisions to charge a customer more than what they paid based on the information on the listing when purchased.

OP4 months agoE-bay sets the cost what you make a product - the product sold and I got hit with extra $2 when I got the label - nothing for me to fix -
I think there is a problem with e-bay

eBay has nothing to do with setting up the shipping section on your listings. They might make a suggestion shown underneath the Weight and Dimension section on the listing tool but you have no clue what information it is based on and at the end of the day the responsibility for everything on a Seller's listing lies with the Seller. I've seen their suggestions and in the vast majority of cases they are wrong for what I am Selling so I ignore them. We have seen a lot of new Sellers make bigger mistakes than $ 2.00.
Trust, me I am really sorry you lost $ 2.00 but hopefully you can learn from the mistake.

OP4 months agoIt's interesting that everyone tells me I am at fault - I made a mistake - sorry I just don't see it that way, I have never experienced this in the past and I have been selling for years
You make a product - e-bay pops out a cost and that's what you pay when you spend out for a label
$2 is a big deal with e-bay fees being what they are
I thank you for your response but I don't think any of this has helped me with respects of pointing out the mistake you keep telling me I made.
If I can't depend on thee numbers e-bay spits out for shipping I am going to lose every time.
thanks
