Seller cancels order
I bought something and seller canceled the order after I won the auction. He claims he forgot to set a reserve. Now he says he’ll sell it to me for $100 more. Anything I can do?

Mentor2 years agoIf the seller cancelled using the reason that the item was out of stock/damaged (which is the only reason he could legitimately use), you can leave appropriate feedback to warn other sellers.
If he used a different reason on the cancellation notice, please post back.

OP2 years agoHe used the ‘out of stock or damaged’ reason and when I asked, he said he’d sell it to me for a lot more and that I would have known it was worth more. I spoke online to someone and they said that is prohibited using that excuse for why he cancelled. Just upset me.

Mentor2 years agoWhen a seller cancels an order because he is refusing to ship, that is the ONLY valid reason he can choose (the other two are that you asked for the cancellation or that there was a problem with your address).
The out of stock reason earned the seller a defect on his record. Too many of those and he won't be selling for long.
Sorry to hear the eBay rep advised you incorrectly.
