Seller cancelling order after item paid and auction ended
It seems to me that more and more often Sellers have cancelled orders after payment complete and auction ended for the REASON " Item out of stock" or "Item damaged" when the auction ends and the bids were LOW! When in actuality It seems the Seller didn't get the price they wanted or expected so they just cancelled the order and made claims that they sold it earlier or the item was damaged. Sellers Should have to contact the buyers prior to cancelling the order if the order has already been paid. Ebay should make the seller affirm that the item is on hand and undamaged when the listing is created and before the end of the auction to ensure to the possible buyers that they are not wasting their time and that the item they are bidding on is attainable. I have personally seen Sellers cancel My order for a so called " One of a kind, Original, signed, Framed, oil painting." for Item out of stock or item damaged reasons, then turn around and relist the same item for auction again.
Ebay should penalize sellers that do not remove listings prior to the end of the auction for out of stock or damaged items, and Sellers certainly should not be allowed to Relist those same items for auction again.
If the item was out of stock why did the seller Not End the Auction early? If the item was damaged, the seller could have contacted the buyer to see if they still wanted the item damaged or not.
If the Real reason is that the item didn't sell for enough money then the Seller should have set a minimum amount they would accept for their item.
It's Dirty and Underhanded and not at all fair to the buyer.
