Seller cancelled vehicle order

Won a vehicle auction, paid the $1000 deposit then seller cancelled the sale. Contacted ebay who confirmed seller did not include a reserve when listing ad. I understand Ebay has a non-binding bid policy but because it states non-binding BID shouldn't only the buyer be able to cancel the transaction. If the seller is not bound to the sale the seller would have an incentive to list vehicle sales without a reserve to attract greater interest then cancel the transaction if not satisfied with the final bid.

OP2 weeks agoSome states do not title cars after they reach a certain age, so it can't be because of titles. Why have reserve and no reserve auctions for vehicles if seller can cancel transaction for any reason?

Mentor2 weeks agoVehicle listings are a special kind of listing as the item is a titled item. Either the seller or the buyer can cancel the sale without any consequences. It has been this way for years.
