seller cancelled my order but I am not getting my money back
The seller decided he no longer wants to sell the item and I have paid for it. He is not responding to my messages. eBay is impossible to contact to get help as the delivery date is still in the future and the automated help is telling me to wait for the delivery. What can I do?

OP3 years agoI have been trying to contact eBay about it , but don't know how to speak to a real person about this. Their helpline says it is only there to discuss fraud and all other issues must be dealt with online. Online one ends up just going in circles as it tells me I have to wait for the delivery date to pass before I can ask for help. This was an expensive item and I cannot understand why I should be waiting for a refund when the seller decided he no longer wanted to sell. If you have any advice please help! Thank you.

If you don’t want to wait for the estimated delivery date to pass … you can file a chargeback with your credit card company immediately.

OP3 years agoI have not received an e-mail to say it was cancelled and that I have been refunded. The owner just e-mailed to say he no longer wants to sell the item and that he hopes eBay will refund me soon. He is not responding to my messages. Thank you for replying.

That sounds like the seller hasn’t cancelled formally … so you won’t be refunded unless you take some action … either with eBay OR your credit card company.

Mentor3 years agoHi @nitak224kb7
Did you receive an email saying the transaction was cancelled and that you were refunded? If so, the refund would have been returned to your original payment source, which eBay would process within 48hours. The rest of the time would be taken by the bank that issued the credit card.
You can phone your credit card company and ask whether a refund is pending. If not … then you can request a chargeback. You’re at no risk of losing your money … but I’m very sorry you won’t be receiving the item you purchased.

·3 years agoIf you don't receive it by the estimated delivery date, open an Item Not Received case the next day.
If it's a newer seller, they might not know what to do.
You can request to have CS call you back at the address below.
