Seller cancelled Buy-It-Now purchase, Refund process failed and I can't get money or item
Purchased an item with an Accepted Offer. Seller waited four days then claimed the item was damaged and Seller would refund my money. Several more days and the Refund process/cancellation failed. Seller then insisted that he/she couldn't complete the refund (new ebay policy) and I had to initiate the refund/cancellation from my end. Of course as a seller I knew this was wrong and now I can't get any action from ebay's automated system. Ebay assumed the item is being shipped. I've waited past the expected shipping date and still can't get any response from ebay. Any suggestions? Thanks.

'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your seller. It shouldn't be this way. You can get your money back.
You need to open an INR [Item Not Received] claim.
Go and take a look at your purchase history. You can find it on the top right of any Ebay page. Hover over the words My Ebay. A menu will appear, click on Purchase history. Find this transaction. Look what the estimated time of arrival window is on your purchase. When it is one day past the last date, then file an INR claim.
That will protect you and your money. Follow the instructions that will appear on your screen. All the information will be there.
Go and take a look at your purchase history. You can find it on the top right of any Ebay page. Hover over the words My Ebay. A menu will appear, click on Purchase history. Find the transaction. Look to the right there is likely to be a large blue box. Return This Item.
OR
eBay Help page

1. Go to Purchase history.
2. Select More actions beside your item and then I didn't receive it.
3. Tick the box beside I want a refund or I want the item.
4. You have the option of adding a message to the seller.
5. Select Send request.

OP1 year agoto mam98031 and disneyshopper: thanks for the quick replies. Immediately after my first post I sent another email to the seller noting that his information was incorrect and requested Seller try the refund again or contact Ebay. Either the seller finally came through or Ebay stepped in but the refund has been posted. Situation is resolved. Thanks.

Mentor1 year agoI'm so glad we were able to give you some useful information. It would have been the seller coming to their senses as Ebay would not have a reason to step in at this time. I am very pleased to hear that you got refunded.

Mentor1 year agoGo to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.
