seller cancelled??
I was the only one that bid on an item , then seller asked me to cancel
saying they didn't have the item, is this a normal thing on ebay?

·3 years agoThe seller wants you to request a cancellation or refund so s/he can claim you requested it to avoid getting a "defect" because s/he is out of stock (or is lying and is deliberately evading the eBay fee for setting a Reserve Price so s/he can set the Starting Price lower than s/he is willing to sell for).
Reply that a buyer cannot cancel the transaction, only the seller can do that, and you do NOT want the transaction cancelled, you want the item you won (and paid for if applicable).
If you haven't paid you have to decide whether to do so to protect yourself or to take the risk that s/he will cancel for nonpayment after 4 days, which might or might not be reversible if you appeal (and is at least more effort than it should be).
If you paid and you don't get a package or full refund from the seller by the time the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there. If you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund.
Come back for further help if you need it, or if you want to leave feedback after you get the item as described or a full refund (there are some pitfalls in leaving feedback when you have had disputes with the seller).
