Seller cancelled

Question

The seller contacted me about permission to cancel my order as they could not fulfill it at the price paid. I did not request the cancellation but they submitted it as a buyer request. That seems inaccurate. Is there any reason on their end to do this?

They do it so they won't get a defect on their account
