Seller canceled order after being paid, because they put in wrong shipping methods. What to do?
So I bought an item, seller canceled the order after I paid, because they put in the wrong shipping method and they claim the item is too big. But they say they canceled the order and the order isn't canceled, I didn't get my money back yet and I did not get any email with any notifications, just a message back on ebay. Do I have to cancle the order or say the item didn't arrive?
I'm ok with paying up for the more expensive shipping, because I really want that item. Either way what do I do in this situation to proceed with the order?

When the seller cancelled your order, you should have automatically been refunded.
Go to your Purchase History, find the item, and check to see if it states "This item has been canceled" and it should state "Refunded".

OP2 years agoWell the seller said they will have to cancel the order, but they didn't do that yet.
I asked if they can adjust the shipping prices so I can pay the difference and they gave me a link to ebay listing to do just that, but I cannot use it yet since it says doesn't ship to my country. I am not sure if the fault doesn't also lay purely on their side, like I paid for the product, shouldn't they cover the difference in delivery fee if they messed up? I feel like it could be a scam, but then again the seller wanted to cancel the order and didn't initiate this line of thinking as that was all me. I also don't really care as much about my customer rights as they are the only seller to have correct pictures of the item for something that should be out of stock long ago. So I'd still risk paying, but I'd need to know if I can get my money back if things go south.
I feel like the best choice for me would be to cancel order myself, ask them to relist it correctly and then I would order it again. Can I do that and get refunded for the previous one immediately like amazon does? I cannot pay double before getting a refund, but I can adjust for shipping.

Buyers cannot cancel their orders. If the seller does not cancel the transaction, you can file a Refund Request as soon as the estimated date of delivery has passed by at least 1 day.
Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history
If the seller does not respond after 3 days, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.
