Seller canceled my order due to it selling low.
A seller canceled my order because I won the item for $5.00 and said it was out of stock or damaged. The seller relisted it for $90, and I am frustrated that he did this against eBay seller rules.

This often happens with new sellers or those who haven't listed items as auctions before, and took ebay's poor advice to: Start auctions with a low starting bid to Encourage bidding, which often does not work out well for them.
Did you check the seller's feedback profile before bidding on the item? If not check it out now. You may find that despite having a fair number of feedback and a high rating, that most or all of the feedback was for buying not selling. Never go by a feedback percentage alone!
As Lady_Madonna wrote the seller did receive a defect on their account and will probably have to pay the final value fees for the cancelled transaction. It does not take many defects for a new or very occasional sellers to be kicked off the site.

Mentor2 weeks agoWhen the seller cancelled the transaction due to "out of stock/damaged", they received a defect on their selling account from Ebay.

eBay will deal with the new seller if they get defects for 2% of their sales. They'll warning, and may have the time their payments are held extended, and face a limit on how many items they can list. If they do not clean up their act they are banned from selling.
"Principal play in"
Did you mean Principals In Play? If so whose. If the item you won is worth the $90 it was relisted for, do you feel that the seller should have to eat that kind of loss, just because of their inexperience and for taking ebay's bad advice? These days many can't afford that, and there's a pretty steep learning curve for ebay seller's these days.
eBay has changed the wording about pricing from what I posted earlier to:
Pricing tips:
A low starting price can help attract bidders
It's the first thing under the tips header. Followed by adding a buy it now option and selling vehicles as auctions. It can be found in the link below which could be more informative
