Why would a seller block a buyer from purchasing an item?

Mentor2 years agoSellers can block any buyer they wish. Some reasons: They cancelled an order, they left a negative, they leave many negatives for others, they ask many questions, they return an item, they don't pay for an item, they make a lowball offer, etc. This is one tool sellers have to protect themselves. I myself have blocked buyers who get mad at the answers they receive here on the community and threaten to ruin my account.
In short, many reasons. If you were blocked, you will have to find another seller.

-Did that happen to you?
-Did you ever do any business with that Seller before they blocked you?
-Did you actually receive a message saying that Seller in specific is not accepting purchases or bids from you?

·2 years agoA seller can add any user to his/her Block Bidder/Buyer List for ANY reason that is sufficient for that seller to not want the user's business, and s/he is under no duty to disclose the reason to the user nor to eBay. That user is blocked from ALL listings by that seller as long as s/he is on the list, not just "an item."
S/he can also automatically block users who meet (or fail to meet) certain "Buyer Requirements", as set out at https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
