Seller behavior
Summary: In a brief discussion about 'Seller behavior,' lloydwellman initiated the conversation with no specific content, followed by jacbarcollectibles, who also did not contribute any additional information. The conversation lacks detail or development beyond these initial empty posts.
I made an offer on a "make offer" ad for an item priced at $83.58. The seller counteroffered with an offer of $83.00, only $0.58 less than the ad price. The seller did this same thing a second time, offering $83.00.
I brought this to the attention of ebay, and they were just fine with the seller's actions. I have a whole new understanding about seller-oriented ebay.
Just as an added tidbit; I attempted to make an offer of $0.58 for the item and was refused the opportunity to do so by ebay. Seems a seller can do whatever pleases them, but the buyer is restricted to different standards! What do you think?

Mentor4 months agoSellers can set a lower limit for offers and any offer below this setting will be automatically rejected. It is up to the seller what they consider to be an offer they are willing to accept. Some sellers are fairly open about offers and some are not. You probably have a seller that does not know exactly how the offer system works so they are not willing to discount their listing very much.
