Seller backed out of the sale and blamed me!
Early this morning, I bought an item (Blippi talking doll...new in the box) for my young grandson's 3rd birthday. I paid for it immediately.
You can only imagine how I felt, when the seller contacted me a few hours later, to say that she could not find the doll and wanted to know if I wanted to buy something else from her, or did I want a refund. Of course I wanted a refund! I told her that. She contacted me a few minutes later to say that a few months ago, she remembers that she must have gotten rid of it.
I received notice that she has refunded the money...I had to search for another new talking Blippi doll, and did find one. The message from eBay was that I would receive the refund, and that I had requested the refund!!!
I REALLY wanted to contact Safe Harbor, but couldn't find where I could to say that the SELLER posted the item for sale, but could not find the item to send to me.
I just cannot believe that this seller (ab2151) did not even look to see if she indeed had the item before she posted it for sale!!!!!
I have always looked at the seller's feedback before I purchase, because I've had problems in the past with sellers that had low feedback, but this seller has 100% feedback!

You DID request the refund. So the seller was able to weasel out of any consequences from Ebay.

OP2 years agoIn the state where I live, there are penalties for what she had done... Bait and Switch is what it is called. She actually emailed me to say that she could not find the doll and offered to sell me something else OR refund my money. Since the doll was to be a birthday gift for my soon to be 3yr old grandson. I had no choice but to get a refund. She later emailed me again to say that she was sorry, but she remembered that she had gotten rid of some of her inventory a few months ago, and the doll must have been in the things that she disposed of. Why oh why would someone post an item for sale, and not check her existing inventory to see if it was still available???!!!
I did find another from another seller, a bit more expensive, but with a birthday in 3 weeks, I bought it and HOPEFULLY this one will arrive. Pity that there is no way to either contact eBay about the shabbiness of some delinquent sellers, or even a way to leave them a NEGATIVE feedback.
