Seller Auction Fraud Retracting highest bid at last minute
I tried to place a bid for something 9 or 10 hours before the end of an auction and it said I was outbid which was actually relieving . I found the same type of item for much less after that and figured I could just forget about the whole thing since I was outbid and wasn't even able to actually place a bid in the first place, but then only 9 minutes before the end of the auction all the sudden I get a notification on my phone that says Im the highest bidder and that the auction is almost about to end in a few minutes! I freaked out and got on eBay and immediately contacted the seller and nicely asked 5 times to please retract bid with no response, I found this to be strange since it said said they had literally just retracted the way higher bid than mine just seconds before. I then remembered years ago someone telling me that some fraudulent sellers on eBay will have either a friend or use a friend’s account to place a high bid on their item to drive up their bids from potential buyers and then at the very last second retract their fake bid leaving the last bidder who was outbid hours or days prior only a few minutes or seconds on the clock to try and retract their bid that they had long since forgotten about with the intention of forcing them into buying their item and refusing to retract their bid or cancel their order on purpose if the poor previously out bid bidder even catches it in time! This is what is happening to me and I want to know if anyone else has experienced this too? This is a Chinese seller that is doing this, has anyone else had a similar experience with any Chinese rock and gem/crystal sellers? It is completely ridiculous for a seller to refuse to retract your bid if they just had retracted the highest bidder’s bid seconds before and with only a couple minutes left before the auction ends!
