seller asking me to close return for refund
The seller of the items I am trying to return is asking me to close return, then he promises to refund my money. Has anyone else done this? I am reluctant because it says if I close return, Ebay will not be able to help and I want my money back. They also gave me a sob story at first how this will make them lose their job and are divorced offered me less than my return....

Do not close your return until you are satisfied and have either your item or your refund.
If this is a "not as described return", and the seller does not cooperate and refund you or provide prepaid return shipping and refund upon return, you can ask eBay to step in after three business days from starting your case for up to twenty-one business days. If you wait longer than that eBay will close the case without a finding.
