Seller asked me to close INR request, then stopped responding
Title: Closed Item Not Received request after seller told me refund could not be processed — what should I do? Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice as a buyer. I purchased multiple items from a seller on eBay, but the items were not shipped and no tracking number was provided. I opened an Item Not Received request, but the seller told me that the refund could not be processed properly while the request was open, so I closed the request based on their explanation. After I closed it, the seller still did not complete the refund, did not ship the items, and did not provide tracking. The seller later confirmed in eBay messages that the shipment and refund were still pending. They also said they would finalize the item count, process the remaining refund, and provide tracking, but now they have stopped responding for over a week. I contacted eBay support through the help pages, but the system says that since I closed the request myself, eBay cannot step in or reopen it through the normal process. I feel that I was misled into closing the request before the issue was resolved. Has anyone experienced something similar? My questions are: 1. Is there any way to ask eBay for a manual review of the seller’s messages? 2. Can a closed Item Not Received request ever be reopened if the seller asked the buyer to close it? 3. Should I now file a dispute with my credit card company for “goods not received”? 4. Is there any other buyer protection option I should try before contacting my payment provider? I have screenshots of the seller’s messages showing that the refund and shipment were still pending after the request was closed. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Mentor5 months agoOnce you closed the case it cannot be reopened nor can another case be opened. You let the seller trick you into closing the case. Go to your payment source and see if you can open a charge back. If you can this will cost the seller a $20 fee from eBay and you will probably win the charge back since your payment source decides the outcome not eBay.
