Seller - Accepted offers disappearing after accepting them.
In the past week I have accepted two separate offers on different items that I am selling. After I click accept it disappears, like the offer was not made. I saw somewhere that Ebay keeps the item up until it is paid for if other offers were put out, but the one was 6 days ago and I have never received payment.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is happening?
Can a buyer make an offer and then change their mind, once it is accepted?
I have it set up for immediate payment required, but I don't know if that applied to offers or just Buy it Now.
Thanks for any help.

When a seller accepts an offer the buyer is notified and instructed to pay. The item is not sold until the buyer actually pays. This is why it is not in your sold items and you can not send an invoice, eBay has already done that. This is more like the way buy it now with immediate payment works. Since the item is not sold until payment and still active another buyer can purchase at full price. This information is also in the payment message the buyer receives.
This is meant to cut down on sellers having items removed from sale while waiting on a buyer to pay and then having to relist if they don't. Item continues to be listed until paid for.
You can enable a setting that requires buyers to enter a payment method before sending you the offer. If you accept the buyer is automatically charged. Basically making an offer immediate payment.
You can do that on your account settings buyer requirements page https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements

OP8 months agoThank you for the info.
It is unfortunate that Ebay allows people to make offers and then not follow through.
I checked that link and I have it checked that
"Require all buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer "
But apparently that doesn't matter, as neither have paid after me accepting their offers.
Oh well.
