Seller’s real identity
Is there a way to find the real name of a seller if they’re an actual store or company, but they use a name on eBay like “abc_good-stuff-1234 I want to report a seller to the Better Business Bureau, and the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer protection. I believe the seller is a store or company, based on the types and number of items they are selling. Plus the word “store†is in their eBay name. I’m sure eBay is able to confirm this, unless it’s not their policy to do so.

No, you can not access the registered name of an eBay member.
You can report the seller to eBay for whatever issue you are having. If you can tell us the problem, we can give you info on reporting it.

OP2 years ago@wooden_flower Seller has insisted multiple times that my item has been delivered, despite my explanation that the tracking number is either wrong or fake. FedEx told me that the tracking number given to me wasn’t even addressed to me. It seems fishy to me that the seller didn’t post any shipment information until I asked about shipping status several days after ordering. The first time the seller said it was delivered and posted the bogus tracking number, tracking showed at that moment that the package was out for delivery, not delivered. It stuns me that even with a false tracking number, seller claims item was delivered when tracking clearly showed it was not. I asked seller multiple times to confirm the tracking number, or give me the actual one. No response. It therefore seems to me that seller is hiding fraudulent activity. I posted negative feedback about the seller, and seller asked eBay to remove it, which eBay did. That greatly disappoints me. I appealed it. I filed a request with eBay to issue a refund as seller won’t. I can’t file a request for eBay to “step in†until this coming Friday. By the way, FedEx tracking showed the delivery photo at a house other than mine. Sure, this could mean FedEx delivered to the wrong house, but again, FedEx said I wasn’t the person the package was intended for. With seller refusing to give me tracking information other than the bogus number I have, I’m convinced there is fraudulent activity going on here. I believe that goes beyond anything eBay can do about such behavior. There’s not a lot of money involved here. To beat a cliché into the ground, it’s the principle of the thing. Seller should not be allowed to sell on eBay, yet eBay honored the seller’s request to remove my negative feedback.

Since there is tracking showing delivery, eBay will find for the seller. You then need to appeal, but you need to get in writing from fedex that the package was not addressed to you. The easiest way to do this is to use the online chat with fedex so you can print the chat transcript.
After you have written proof, if eBay does not refund your purchase, call your credit card issuer. They can file a dispute based on the fraudulent tracking.
The not received claim and the credit card charge back are the best ways to alert eBay to the seller’s fraudulent activity.

Excellent advise. Thank you. And thank you for the heads-up about eBay finding for the seller.

I filed a refund request with PayPal who issued the refund immediately. I then received an email from eBay saying they closed the request for a refund from them. Do you know if PayPal goes after eBay for reimbursement of my refund? I hope so. Then does eBay contact the seller? Thanks again.

Paypal will file the charge back with eBay, just as a credit card issuer would do. eBay then presents the charge back to the seller after charging them for the refund. The seller can pay a fee and try to fight it, or accept it.
eBay closed the request you made through them because you can not file the same claim in 2 places.
You can use this page to report the seller - select violated policy - https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 then select other. In the box describe the fraudulent tracking, and any other info you want them to have. There’s room for 1000 characters in the box.

I’m so happy that the seller will have to answer back to eBay if they refused to answer back to me. The seller needs to be held responsible for this total lack of cooperation and repeated false information.
You are awesome. You have answered every question I threw at you, thoroughly and detailed. Thanks so much for your efforts and expertise.

Hi. I wonder if i can trouble you with one more question. Using the link you provided to me in your previous message, I filed a report with eBay regarding the seller. I received an email from eBay acknowledging receipt of my report, but I don’t see any link in the email to view or obtain a copy of the report I submitted. Is there a way to get a copy of the report i filed?
Thanks again for everything.

You could try requesting a customer service history report - I've never asked for this one, so I don't know for sure if reports against members are included, or if it is only contact with customer service reps.
https://www.sarweb.ebay.com/sar
Reports take about a week to receive.
If you think of it, I'd love to know if the report you filed is included in the contact report.

I want to send eBay an explanation about why I went to PayPal, and my thoughts about the seller and about being scammed. It’s more than 500 characters. Where/how can I write a note to eBay?
Thanks.
