sell
i'm attempting to sell an item on ebay valued at $25k . a potential buyer has been in touch with me through ebay's messaging system and my email.however , i've recieved and email stating that the payment is on hold, and i'm being asked to send the item to a provided mailing address. the issue is that when i check my ebay account , i don't see any indication of the sale orpayment hold. i'm seeking assistance with this matter

Mentor2 months ago@baba._97 This sounds like a scam attempt in the making. You are a target for scammers since you are a fairly new seller that has a high priced item for sale. All payments are made using eBay checkout. There is no reason for an honest buyer to ask to contact you offsite.

I would ship the watch with Registered Mail so that you can insure the full value of the item. Be sure to pay for the extra insurance AND get the required signature on delivery. You can only buy shipping insurance for up to $15k on eBay.
You can only buy registered mail shipping at the post office.
Then you come back and manually add the tracking number to the sold item. Be sure to carefully enter the tracking as it can't be corrected and needs to be accurate.
Your payout will be held for 31 days because you are a new seller PLUS it's a high priced sale.

Mentor2 months agoThis user is trying to scam you. Unless you have been informed from eBay itself that the item was sold there is no sale. If the item is not in your sold list do not fall for the scam.
