Seems phishy - someone bought something I listed, before I even knew it was listed
Normally I get an email from ebay, saying my post was listed. Just now, listing some pants, I got an email they were sold, so fast, before I even had the email from ebay that they were listed. Buyer from China, but ship to Portland, OR. Now more messages from China about pants, but not from original supposed buyer. Shall I cancel? It says it is paid, but it all seems odd to me.

1) Buyers have saved search notices which will notify them when an item they are looking for is listed. I suspect that's the reason it sold so fast. Also your price was middle to low, so it was a good value.
2) Don't reply the any user id that is not your buyer's user id
3) Your buyer is probably using a Freight Forwarding service. All their US packages go to that business (in Oregon). From there, that business bundles everything up and sends a big package to the buyer.
You are only responsible for shipping to the Freight forwarder, and if there was a return, a return label from the freight forwarder's USA address.
Most of these sales go very well. I am not afraid of selling this way.

OP8 months agoThanks for the help. It was sold at 8:23, but I got the notification from Ebay that it was listed at 8:35. So that's odd. And another Chinese user asked if I had more of these pants, but I also see there are thousands listed currently. But your reply is reassuring. And when I asked the buyer did respond, and said if I wanted to cancel I could, but looking at that option, if I cancel I owe Ebay the shipping cost, even though I haven't printed a label yet. I'll go forward with it.

Timing of email can be delayed.
Nonetheless -
If you cancel at the buyer's request, you won't owe the shipping label or any fees other than $.40
Are you sure you are looking at your eBay account and only the eBay account? Not emails, not following links, etc?
You can get a full refund for an unused label.
