Search options not working on Chromebook

I have an old Acer C720 chromebook and most websites work fine but when I do an Ebay search the checkboxes on the left side don't work. The chromebook won't update chrome beyond version 76.0.3809. Has anybody experienced this or have a fix for it? Thanks for any info.

Any difference if you try another browser?
