Question

Does anyone know what the hell happened to eBay's search engine suddenly? I search for, let's say, Vineyard Vines Men's Performance Polo XL. I get thousands of returns, most of them inaccurate. And it doesn't matter if I select the XL limiter - I still get all manner of sizes.

It was never like this. I'd say over the past two months, it's been getting worse. Am I alone on this? Poshmark improved their search, and eBay lost its mind.

It doesn't matter whether I'm on Android, a Fire tablet or Windows desktop. It happens everywhere.

Also, the search takes FOREVER.

Try narrowing your search category to Men's Polos (if that is what you are searching for), and also try putting "XL" in quotes to force eBay to search for only exact matches with no substitutions.

I have seen other complaints lately about "XL" searches -- it seems that eBay may be substituting or matching other sizes when searching using that term, even when choosing the filter options. For some reason the issue is worse when using "Lowest first" sort.

You can report the issue to eBay using the "Feedback" / "Comment" / "?" icon in the lower right of your search results if you are using a desktop browser.
