Why did eBay eliminate the ability to search in subcategories. Searching within the subcategory I was viewing was generally useful, but now, only being able to search within broad general categries returns so many "choices" as to be useless; especially since so many of the results are totally unrelaed to the seach term.
Why did they make search so useless.

OP2 years agoWhen I go to a subcategory, the search box comes up with "search all categories" and a drop dowm of about 37 general categories such as "Collectables". So when I search, instead of 80 relevant items I get 8,000 items, about 7,820 of which are irrelevant.
An example of a subcategory I used to search in would be: Collectables-Tools,Hardware &Locks-Tools-Blacksmithing. Now my choice is to search Collectbles.
This definitely changed recently, Am I the only one that it affected?

Mentor2 years agoIf I try starting with a search using a keyword, I can change the category using the options on the left side of the search results page using a desktop browser.

From there I can change the keywords and search just that subcategory.
