Search bar is now terrible, when I hit backspace to fix spelling...the cursor jumps to the far right

I don't like the new search bar

When I am searching for an item if I have made a spelling mistake I click on the word that I need to fix, but the back or delete button on my phone will make the cursor jump all the way to the end even if I am trying to correct the spelling of a word in the middle of a sentence.

I hope somebody that works for eBay is reading this so it can be fixed.
