Screwed out of a great deal because of eBay’s actions
Solar system cost $13k but valued at $25k. Seller provided a bill of lading that turned out to be fake, and never provided tracking info. I firmly believe had the seller been paid what I paid thru eBay, I would have received his helluva deal. He complained eBay hadn’t paid him and said they wouldn’t until I received it. I asked eBay to help in getting tracking info. Seller complained of their nonpayment to him and asked to cancel and refund my money, which i definitely didn’t want since I had a valid contract having paid. eBay refunded meaning I now must pay over twice what I originally paid to get the same item. I specifically told eBay I wanted this item. Now I’m out the difference of $13k to buy same elsewhere!??

I think rather than lamenting the lost “deal†(that likely wasn’t), I’d be grateful for the recovery of the $13,000.
There is a reason this “deal†appeared too good to be true…
