Scammer sold me expensive camera for lower price. Tracking shows delivered, package never arrived
Can anyone help me with what to do here.
I bought a expensive camera for a discounted price which I know was not the smartest move by me, but I fell for it. Figured Ebay would protect me if it never shipped or a package showed up with a T-shirt inside. But this clever scammer likely put a different shipping address to have it show "delivered" on the tracking by USPS so ebay would see it as delivered when in fact it never made it to my house. I literally did a full deep search through entire property every place it could have been left. We live in a very safe neighborhood with zero thefts. Tracking from USPS shows as "delivered in Mailbox". We don't have a mailbox at our house, we have small mail slot only envelopes can fit through. If the camera was in fact actually shipped from seller, it would have been in at least a medium size box and no way it would fit inside our mail slot that USPS claims as being delivered "inside mailbox" the carrier states. So this leads me to believe the seller sent a small envelope to a close by address or even same street but different number to show "delivered" on USPS tracking and trick Ebay. This is very clever of the scammers because it tricks Ebay into thinking it's delivered and my fault (the buyer) for not finding it.
Can anyone help with previous experiences like this and whether Ebay was able to resolve it. I worry that Ebay will side with the Scammer because all they see is "Delivered".
I made a case with Ebay and waiting Seller response
I requested the seller to show me a photo of the package with postage and correct address on it prior to it being sent out. However now I realize the could just go make a fake box right now with my shipping info and even pay for postage to suffice that request? Ebay says I can ask them to step in on 3 business days but concerned this may be too long to wait to explain what's going on.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks
