Scammer
Summary: pinkprincessmolly1965 shared a distressing experience of being scammed out of $180 after purchasing a tire through a non-eBay transaction where additional delivery fees were falsely claimed. Despite attempting to report the incident on eBay, they faced difficulties due to verification issues. krazzykats and lady_madonna advised filing a chargeback with the payment source and highlighted the importance of completing transactions through eBay for protection and guarantees.
Hi
My Husband & I were just scammed out of $180
I tried to send a report to ebay but the listed store would not verify and neither would the sellers name. But if you search the store in ebay it pops up. I have conversations both my husband & I do on both phones. My husband has no clue what he is doing when shopping online. He spoke to a man about a tire and he told my husband to send him the money through Chime so I paid him with my card. It gave a delivery date of next day by 6pm through FedEx. When it didn't arrive we reached out to the seller, he then said the delivery company wanted $100 to deliver it to our home but would get 90% back. Im not stupid. My husband has a text with him saying it was $180 and he would cover delivery. So we never got the tire or my money back.
We both are on disability and can not afford to toss money out the window. I dont know what to do.

Mentor1 month agoSince this transaction did not take place ON Ebay, Ebay cannot help you.
As per the previous answer from @krazzykats contact the funding source used to pay for the item to file a chargeback.
When using Ebay, make sure everything goes through the Ebay site so that you can use Ebay's Money Back Guarantee if anything goes wrong with the transaction.
