Scammed by a buyer…need help
I shipped out a item to a buyer on march 16 with USPS GRD ADV and tracking. Was supposed to arrive on march 19. After 2 weeks of not arriving the buyer requested a refund on April 1. I issued refund same day ( April 1 ) . Item ended up being delivered April 5. I’ve contacted the buyer several times without any responses. He now has my card and the refunded money. Contacted USPS and they won’t the insurance on the card because it’s been delivered. Filed a report with eBay 9 days ago and haven’t heard anything from them !
What can I do ???

·2 years agoHi @jeff89178 Sorry this happened, but there's nothing you or eBay can do to make the buyer re-pay for the item. It's a normal business loss when the package isn't delivered by the latest estimated delivery date, so you must refund, but then they deliver it later.

OP2 years agoUghhhhhhhhhh ! So I’m just out $45 😡 Buyer has 1600+ positive feedback too. Hope karma bites his a$$ for taking advantage of a new seller. Could at least send my card back or answer messages !

·2 years ago@jeff89178 Call it tuition for seller schooling, happens to all of us starting out! I forgot to mention:
In the future, when a package is that late, file a missing mail search with USPS. It won't prevent a buyer claim, but sometimes they'll surface the package in time before the deadline for refunding. If you proactively communicate with the buyer that you're doing something about the late delivery, they might be willing to wait before filing with eBay for refund (they have up to 30 days).

The good news is that if you had the outgoing package scanned within your handling time, eBay won't penalize you with a transaction defect for the late shipping delivery.
