That's not a scam, it's an indication that you need to learn more about how to price your items.
The item selling price needs to cover your item acquisition cost, all your costs of doing business (including fees), plus the profit you want to make. If you aren't doing that, then of course you will lose money, but that isn't eBay's fault. You are the seller, and you set your pricing.
