scam
I am in process of buying rv through ebay protection plan.
I received the info in email. It looks very official, proper.
It gave a number if you need help, I did a reverse look up on it and it came back to a personal landline In ILL, with name etc.
Here is the number on the invoice...in the email.
(408) 320-9290
Can anybody verify? Ihave to buy 5 $200 money orders. Never done anything like this before.

OP11 months agoI was sure I could spot a scam. The only reason I became suspicious was because I read so many warnings. The phony money order is what threw me. I still don't understand how a money order can be cashed by someone other than Ebay. I am so ignorant on the subject of IT fraud.
Thanks to those who warned/educated me. I reported the scam to all those involved.

I can verify that it's a scam. I read the boards every day. So do the other CM's. We see this scam regularly. Please don't disregard our advice ... you will lose your money.

OP11 months agoThis is crazy, I am trying to report the ad to Facebook/Marketplace/ Kinda scarey I almost got taken this way. This same ad is listed in 20 different states! Same write up, same person, for another, same outside pictures, different floor plans.
Supposedly writer is posting for a friend, well, just so happens that person is not listed as a friend. Just so happens, military person, shipping out, needs fast sell.
Itis an older rv, right price, just the condition is exceptional.
Trying to get response from ebay as well. sent them the email I received.

eBay motors listings are discovered on eBay. They are not found on other websites and brought to eBay. They are found here and they stay here.
The seller telling you to pay with money orders. sellers don’t tell buyers how to pay. Payment options are in the eBay listing.
What quality of RV are you hoping for for just $1000?
