Sales tax on silver

Hello. I was charged state sales tax on my silver bullion purchase and I live in state where these items are not taxed. How can I submit request for eBay to correct this?

@rso771 - without knowing where you are, Washington state began taxing bullion starting in 2026.

Whether an eBay item is taxed depends on the law in the state the item is being shipped to, and also on the category the item is listed in. If a seller lists a non-taxable item in a taxable category, purchase of that item may result in sales tax being collected. For buy-it-now items, when going to checkout but before committing to the purchase see if there is a sales tax line item for the purchase; if so, take note of the category the item is listed in before backing out of the cart.
