sales tax on presious metals
Ebay is charging sales tax on presious metals and my state doesn't. How do I get help? It is impossible to get help on ebay!!

It is caused by sellers listing in the wrong category.
They are listing in the Collectible and Art category which is a taxable category instead of Currency and coins which is not .

OP2 years agoThanks...I did contact one seller (a big bullion company out east) and the told me that I would have to contact ebay. How would I get a real person at ebay?

There is no need to call eBay.
If you don't want to pay tax on the purchase, be sure to pick items in the correct category.
here is a difference and that
Sellers may not even realize that listing in that category is making buyers pay taxes, and further, that when you pay more, they pay more (in fees) too.
