Sales tax on gold coins in Pennsylvania
E bay charger me sales tax last week on a gold coin & just now I bid & won a gold coin again they are charging me sales tax I contact e bay to have it refunded It took around a hour of my time & 3 calls they said they will & I still have not received it I contacted the seller advise him that I will only purchase it when sale tax is removed

If the seller didn’t list the item in the correct category, taxes will be due.
Collectible>coins would be taxed.
Collectible>bullion would be exempt.
Sellers don’t collect any tax, so they have no way to return it to you.
If you feel you paid sales tax in error, you may be able to claim it from your state. Print a copy of the listing for reference.
Get in touch with your state, in any case. They are the ones who can force eBay to make corrections as to tax collection. If you tell them eBay has a collecting tax inappropriately, they will contact eBay to make that correction for all future listings.
